The nearest village is 'Paleokastro', where you’ll find a bakery, a kiosk and a few tavernas, which are well worth a visit in the evening.
You can go there early in the evening and join the locals for their habitual ouzo or suma and meze. The nearest large town is 'Samos' town,
10 km away and has plenty of shops, banks, tavernas, museums, etc.
'Poseidonio', where some ruins of the temple of the ancient good of sea
Poseidon can be seen. There is also a long single beach, shallow at start, with sun beds and tavernas, shade is provided by tamarisk trees.
Its little harbour once was called ‘Moulabraimi’, now it is used as a refuge by seamen in very stormy weather. Local lore says that at one point
it is bottom less.
'Mykali Beach', situated to the southeast of the island, is a long stretched beach with marvellous pebbles and has a good selection
of taverns.
'Psili Amos', means fine sand and this is a lovely sandy beach. There is an area of salt marsh and a lake, which dries out during the summer. This is a good bird spotting area and flamingos can be seen there early in the season.
'Klima Bay', is at a distance of 1 km from Poseidonio with a stony beach (sun beds and umbrellas), a teverna and a snack bar. A quiet and idyllic spot.
There is a lovely little beach about 10 minutes away from Kerveli, called 'Mourtia'. There are little coves, worn away by the sea and pretty fishing boats. There are no organised facilities but the water is crystal clear, and is a wonderful spot to take a picnic or stop for a swim.
Near Mourtia there are two other beaches: 'Large Laka' and 'Small Laka'. These cannot, however, be reached by car, as there is no road, only by foot.
The landscape here has a wild beauty.
Monastery of 'Aghia Zoni', built in 1965 in basilica form, with dome and lovely wall paintings.
Monastery of 'Zoodochos Pigi', which is built 400 metres above sea level on the Rambaidoni mount, in a beautiful pine forest.
The church is of the Byzantine order and its dome is on 4 columns that were moved from the ancient temple of Miletus in Asia Minor.
